As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will Design, implement, and govern secure Wide Area Network (WAN) architectures supporting MPLS, Direct Internet Access (DIA), SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and third-party interconnections. Define and maintain security standards and reference architectures for enterprise perimeter, edge, and network security. Design secure network connectivity across campuses, data centers, cloud environments, suppliers, and partner organizations. Lead security assessments and architecture reviews for strategic network connectivity initiatives. Drive the adoption of Zero Trust network security principles across WAN and perimeter services. Own enterprise firewall platforms, with a focus on Fortinet technologies, including firewall policy design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization. Lead firewall migration, modernization, and lifecycle management initiatives. Establish security standards for network segmentation, internet edge protection, traffic control, threat prevention, application-aware policies, and secure partner connectivity. Design and manage secure internet access solutions, including URL filtering, web access governance, SSL/TLS inspection, malware protection, and Secure Web Gateway (SWG) services. Design and maintain secure remote access solutions using IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, site-to-site VPN, and third-party connectivity technologies. Define network segmentation and security zoning strategies across campus, data center, cloud, and hybrid environments to reduce attack surfaces and restrict lateral movement. Act as the escalation point for complex network security incidents, conducting investigations and root cause analysis. Lead firewall policy reviews, rule recertification, vulnerability remediation, and security incident response activities. Drive Security-as-Code and Network-as-Code initiatives by automating firewall policy deployment, validation, and compliance reporting. Integrate security platforms with monitoring systems, Configuration Management Databases (CMDB), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and IT Service Management (ITSM) tools. What You Bring to the Table 6–8 years of overall professional experience in network security, firewall administration, WAN security, or enterprise network security engineering. Strong expertise in Fortinet firewall technologies and enterprise perimeter security. Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing firewall policies and secure network architectures. Experience with WAN technologies, including MPLS, DIA, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity. Strong understanding of network security architecture, segmentation, Zero Trust principles, and perimeter protection. Practical experience with IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, site-to-site VPN, and secure third-party connectivity. Knowledge of secure internet access technologies, URL filtering, SSL/TLS inspection, malware protection, and Secure Web Gateway solutions. Experience with firewall migrations, security policy reviews, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle management. Understanding of SIEM, ITSM, CMDB, monitoring tools, and enterprise security integrations. Familiarity with security automation, scripting, Security-as-Code, and Network-as-Code practices. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, incident management, and root cause analysis skills. You should possess the ability to Design scalable and secure WAN and perimeter security architectures aligned with enterprise security requirements. Translate business and connectivity requirements into effective firewall policies and network security controls. Lead firewall implementation, migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives. Apply Zero Trust and segmentation principles to minimize unauthorized access and lateral movement. Troubleshoot complex network connectivity and security incidents and provide technical guidance during major incidents. Conduct security assessments, firewall rule reviews, and compliance validation activities. Automate repetitive security operations and improve the efficiency of firewall policy management. Collaborate with network, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to deliver secure connectivity solutions. Communicate technical security designs, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders. Continuously improve security architectures, operational processes, and enterprise network protection.
