Fleet/Mechanics

About the Role

The Mechanic position works out of Stansell Electric’s Nashville shop, assisting in all aspects of fleet maintenance and repair. The Mechanic must demonstrate mechanical aptitude, computer skills, mathematical skills, and literacy skills commensurate to the satisfactory completion of position’s primary duties and responsibilities. Advancement opportunities are available by advancing to more senior positions or through transfer to skilled trades.

1. Performs required maintenance schedules in a timely manner.

2. Requires a clean driving report acceptable by Company standards.

3. Maintains safe and healthy workplace in accordance with all appropriate OSHA standards, company policies and local standard operating procedures.

4. Use various diagnostic equipment, tools and other shop equipment.

5. Ensures and inspects paperwork for accuracy and compliance.

6. Responsible for completing work orders and any other communication to document work completed.

7. Ability to troubleshoot mobile equipment used in both shop and field environment.  

8. Road service calls as necessary to evaluate and/or repair failed vehicles and/or equipment.

 

1. Participates in all required training sessions, including, but not limited to any mandatory Company training.

2. Participates actively in ASE certification programs

3. Assists in training individuals with lesser experience or skills

 

 

1. Data entry into computer system

2. Logs daily Technician hours on each work order.

3. Issues fluids used on company vehicles to assigned work orders in computer system.

4. Completes parts requests and logs parts used from parts room on posting sheet immediately.

Requirements

·        High School diploma or GED

·        Current valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one

·        ASE Certifications preferred.

·        TOLC certification preferred but not required

·        Satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s Driving Policy.

·        Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends during peak times.

 

* At least 5 years’ experience as a front line mechanic in both gasoline and diesel engines, electrical, brakes, suspension systems, transmissions and A/C, or equivalent combination of education and experience
