SteerBridge is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to support the Modern Disability Claims program. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone early in their data engineering career to learn our claims data systems, contribute to pipeline development under the guidance of senior engineers, and build technical depth supporting a mission-critical VA program.

Responsibilities

Write clean, well-documented code to support the development, maintenance, and improvement of data pipelines.

Assist with data preparation, cleansing, and basic data quality validation across claims and healthcare data sources.

Support senior engineers in troubleshooting and resolving issues within existing ETL/ELT pipelines while applying standard debugging practices.

Document data workflows, processes, schemas, and technical procedures as directed.

Participate in code reviews and team development activities to build familiarity with coding standards, engineering practices, and collaborative workflows.

Develop knowledge of the team’s domain, codebase, data schemas, and MDC data systems to support increasingly independent engineering work.

Requirements

- Coursework, internship, or project experience involving data pipelines, data engineering, or related data development.
- Exposure to Pandas, Git, or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with healthcare, claims, or related data environments.
