BUILDING ATTENDANT – REC-PLEX (PT)

Job Summary: The City of St. Peters is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Building Attendant to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at the Rec-Plex. You will play an important role in keeping recreation facilities, equipment, and common areas clean, sanitary, and ready for guests and staff. This position is a great fit for someone who takes pride in their work and is looking for a part-time opportunity with a weekend-focused schedule.

Normal Shift: Day-shift hours vary between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., with shifts scheduled based on facility needs. Availability Thursday through Sunday is desired, making this a great opportunity for someone looking for a weekend-focused role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general custodial duties, including removing trash, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and operating floor-cleaning equipment.
• Maintain recreation areas, restrooms, equipment, and common spaces to ensure they remain clean, safe, and orderly.
• Clean and prepare facility spaces for daily operations, programs, and special events.
• Inspect facilities and equipment for maintenance needs or safety concerns and report issues to the appropriate staff.
• Perform basic repairs using hand tools as needed.
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and operate custodial equipment.
• Assist with snow removal and applying salt to walkways during winter weather as needed.
• Provide courteous customer service and help maintain a positive environment for guests and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Valid Missouri driver's license.
• Fundamental knowledge of janitorial equipment and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
