Strata-G is seeking an experienced Designer with the following:

Summary:

Under broad supervision, prepares drawings and sketches using CAD workstations and appropriate design criteria and technical manuals. Performs layout and design work and utilizes theoretical and practical engineering knowledge. Works closely with engineers to ensure coordination of designs.

Major Duties:

• Performs layout and design work from the data supplied, utilizing theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
• Ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Consults with engineering staff and technicians to ensure compliance with design specifications, and has a working understanding of the engineering design process.
• Applies advanced techniques in CAD and standard design applications utilizing this equipment.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent education with a minimum of 8 years of related experience is required, including completed coursework in drafting and CAD.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Advanced knowledge of CAD workstations for creating 2D and 3D drawings.
• Knowledge of drafting.
• Ability to interpret and apply design criteria and technical documentation.
• Ability to ensure accuracy in drawings in compliance with standards.
• Excellent communication skills to comprehend, follow direction, and convey detailed technical data.
• Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to change priorities quickly and confront issues directly.
• Exposure to the use of CAD modeling and computer programming skills.

Physical Requirements:

The employee must be able to:

• Remain in a stationary position, walk, kneel, and crouch.
• Operate a computer on a continual basis and communicate with various levels of the organization.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
