We are seeking an experienced Powder Coat Painter to join our team. As a key member of our Paint Department, you will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various parts and products using specialized equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in powder coating and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all safety and quality guidelines, standards, and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Prepare and hang parts for coating by following established procedures and guidelines.
- Operate powder coating equipment, including guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems, to apply coatings to parts and products.
- Monitor equipment performance and detect defects to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Ensure timely completion of projects and meet customer order deadlines.
- Perform manual color changes, maintain equipment, and perform general maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of equipment operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Load and unload parts or products onto fixtures, and ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
- Collaborate with other department leads to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Train, support, and develop the skills of others.
- Schedule personnel and workload to optimize machine performance.
- Work on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with shipping team to ensure on-time delivery.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- High proficiency in powder coating principles and practices.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Basic math and communication skills required.
- 4+ years in powder painting
- Ability to work in a hot environment and lift up to 40 lbs.
Physical Demands:
This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping up to 60 lbs. Employees may also stand and/or walk for up to 10-12 hours per day. A hot environment is expected.
