Job Title: Snowsports Supervisor Rate of Pay: $19.00/hour Shift: Oct - Nov: Part Time Dec - Mar: Full Time Sunday-Saturday 8:30am-4:30pm, some night skiing shifts until 7:30pm.
Assist Snowsports Manager, Assistant Manager, and Lead Supervisor with their duties. Focus on day-to-day operations. Ensure that the guests have a learning and performance enhancement experience that is uplifting, safe, and enjoyable.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Assist in all the ski and snowboard school operations as needed or assigned.
- →Ensure that instructors are teaching safe, enjoyable, and beneficial ski lessons.
- →Uphold Sundance's zero tolerance standard for sexual abuse and molestation by following protocols to protect students from inappropriate behavior by staff members, guests, and other students.
- →Assist in ensuring financial success of the ski and snowboard school operation.
- →Assist in the development programs and curriculum that stimulates a positive, enjoyable and educational guest experience.
- →Help oversee day-to-day operations.
- →Organize and assign out lessons.
- →Facilitate and give training to staff members that will improve their own enjoyment, professionalism and stimulate the best guest experiences possible.
- →Oversee staff assignments in a manner that is fair to the employee and that will give the best experience for the guest.
- →Properly hire & train all ski and snowboard school personnel. Bring new instructors into the inner circle quickly.
- →Train staff on the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment.
- →Strengthen the stimulation of the staff toward continuing education, certification, etc.
- →Strengthen communication and empowerment with staff.
- →Maintain a system that will allow supervisors to spend time with staff in training, monitoring and operations leadership.
- →Increase the professionalism and support of the snowboarding staff, along with the ski teaching staff.
- →See that quality lessons are being taught and the guest has a special educational experience.
- →Build and strengthen guest relationships and stimulate returning clientele.
- →Teach and model good service recovery.
- →Develop, market, implement, and maintain ski and snowboard school programs.
- →Meet and exceed accepted budget without compromising quality.
- →Support on-mountain recycling program.
- →Assist Snowsports Manager, Assistant Manager and Lead Supervisor in overseeing instructors.
- →Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- →Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner.

- Financial management and accountability including preparation and adherence to departmental budget and willingness to implement improvements to achieve the financial goals of Sundance.
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PSIA/ASSI Certified and high level training background preferred.
- Operate 2-way radios for communication to other staff.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and ski. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, including fallen students. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
