Responsibilities

→Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients.
→Manage and monitor patients with common cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, hyperlipidemia, etc.
→Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, Holter monitors, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
→Assist in care coordination for patients undergoing procedures or referred for specialty care.
→Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable).
→Participate in hospital rounds, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
→Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes, medications, and disease management.
→Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists, primary care providers, and support staff.

Qualifications:

→Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii, or eligibility to obtain one.
→National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
→BLS and ACLS certification required.
→A minimum of 1–2 years of cardiology or internal medicine experience is preferred, but strong new graduates with relevant rotations or an RN background in cardiology will be considered.
→Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
→Comfortable working independently with physician support.
→EMR experience (Epic or equivalent preferred).
