The CRYOPDP Director of Business Development will lead strategic growth initiatives for CRYOPDP, a temperature-controlled logistics company specializing in cold chain transportation, warehousing, and distribution. This role is responsible for expanding market share, developing high-value client partnerships, and delivering compliant, end-to-end cold chain solutions that meet stringent regulatory and quality requirements.
In addition, this role will directly manage and develop a small team of business development and sales professionals, driving performance and supporting pipeline growth.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes a business development strategy targeting pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical research organization.
- Identifies growth opportunities across segments including biologics, vaccines, clinical trials, and specialty therapeutics.
- Monitors industry trends such as cell & gene therapy logistics and direct-to-patient distribution Client Acquisition & Account Development.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key decision-makers in pharma, biotech, and CRO organizations.
- Leads complex RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations.
- Designs tailored cold chain solutions (2–8°C, -20°C, -80°C, cryogenic) Regulatory & Compliance Alignment.
- Ensures all solutions align with FDA, GDP, and global regulatory requirements.
- Partners with Quality teams on validation, audits, and SOP alignment.
- Supports client audits and quality agreements during the sales process.
- Directly manages, coaches, and develops a small team of business development and sales professionals.
- Sets individual and team sales targets, KPIs, and performance expectations.
- Conducts regular pipeline reviews, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions.
- Drives a high-performance, accountability-focused sales culture.
- Owns and grows a robust sales pipeline with a focus on long, consultative sales cycles.
- Oversees lead generation, qualification, and conversion strategies.
- Collaborates with marketing to align demand generation efforts.
- Improves sales processes within Salesforce to improve win rates Partnership & Ecosystem Development.
- Translates client requirements into scalable, compliant solutions.
- Drives revenue growth and ensures profitability of new business.
- Contributes to pricing strategies, forecasting, and contract structuring.
- Monitors and improves KPI’s Revenue Growth, Gross Margin, and Pipeline Opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or related field, required.
- Ten (10)+ years of experience in pharmaceutical logistics or life sciences supply chain, required.
- Three (3)+ years of experience managing or leading sales/business development teams, required.
- Proven track record of closing complex deals within pharma/biotech, required.
- Strong knowledge of GDP, FDA, and global compliance standards, required.
- Experience in clinical trial logistics, biologics, or cell & gene therapy, preferred.
- Established network within pharmaceutical and biotech industries, preferred.
- Hands-on experience with temperature-controlled logistics across multiple ranges (controlled ambient, 2–8°C, frozen, ultra-low, and cryogenic), required.
- Experience supporting or selling into GxP environments, including validation, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and audit processes, required.
- Knowledge of packaging solutions such as passive and active thermal systems, lane validation, and risk mitigation strategies, required.
- Experience with clinical trial logistics, including depot management, direct-to-site, and direct-to-patient distribution models, required.
- Understanding of supply chain visibility tools, track-and-trace technologies, and temperature monitoring systems, required.
- Familiarity with global freight forwarding, customs requirements, and international shipping constraints for pharmaceuticals, required.
- Ability to interpret and respond to technical RFPs with detailed operational and compliance requirements, required.
