Job Purpose:

Legal professional responsible for supporting the development and execution of legal strategies designed to mitigate organizational risk while enabling business objectives.
Works closely with a supervising attorney to provide legal advice and transactional support across the business, particularly in commercial contracting and general corporate matters.
Partners with key stakeholders, including Procurement and Commercial Contract Management (CCM), and collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure regional and global legal initiatives are effectively implemented within the assigned area of responsibility.
Drafts, reviews, and negotiates customer, vendor, and general corporate agreements, and provides day to day legal guidance to supported business units.
Maintains strong awareness and working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and compliance requirements impacting company operations and proactively identifies legal risks and mitigation strategies.

Your Tasks:

Provides comprehensive legal support in commercial contracting, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer and vendor agreements.
Advises and supports functional teams, including Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Strategy (M&A), Marketing, GoGreen, and Procurement.
Assists with mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, transaction support, and post acquisition integration.
Identifies, assesses, and recommends legal strategies to mitigate legal, regulatory, and commercial risk.
Manages and supports resolution of disputes with customers, vendors, or business partners, in coordination with supervising counsel and, where appropriate, outside counsel.
Collaborates with internal legal and support teams to ensure consistent application of legal standards and policies.

Your Profile

Undergraduate university degree
Professional Juris Doctorate degree from accredited institution
License to practice law in Ohio and in good standing
3 years of relevant experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with a law firm, corporate legal department, or governmental agency (or any combination thereof) with a focus on transactional legal work.
Knows fundamental law concepts, practices and procedures of general law practice or a particular field of specialization.
Highly organized
Effective communicator
Influencing skills
Competent & experienced in facilitating meetings or workshops and presenting to groups
Energetic
Proactive with a customer focused approach
Ability to build rapport with key internal contacts
Flexible team player
Membership in at least one state bar (in good standing), with the ability to become a member of the Ohio bar

Legal professional with a 5-7 years contract experience to provide general legal support to assigned business units. There will be heavy focus on the review and negotiation of wide-ranging contracts (e.g., customer contracts, real estate, procurement) to ensure compliance with Laws and Company policies.

• prepare, draft, and analyze contracts and contract terms related to a variety of customer, vendor, trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters to protect DHL’s legal and business interests

• provide general legal advice to clients served, and advise members of the business on legal and related risks associated;

• work well as member of a closely-knit, diverse, and well-respected legal team defending and representing DHL’s interest;

• deliver trainings on legal topics relevant to the business, and advise business on legal trends and developing areas of law;

• possess advanced and well-developed skills and knowledge within the contracts/transactions area with the ability to integrate theory and principals with DHL’s practices, policies, and precedents;

• lead various projects impacting business, operations and revenue, and liaise with senior management, business divisions, consultants, outside counsel, and other parties as appropriate,

• Positive attitude and strong attention to detail are necessary. Additional skills and qualifications include:

• B.A. (from an accredited college or university) & J.D. (from an accredited law school)

• Licensed to practice law in State

• Contracts/transactional experience (with full knowledge of contracts terminology)
