Middle Product Owner [E-commerce Team]
Quick Summary
Hi there! We're Sweed, a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform.
We're Sweed, a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. We're looking for a Product Owner to join our team remotely and help us scale and optimize our platform.
The industry is evolving rapidly, and we’re here to drive that transformation—making cannabis retail more efficient, accessible, and customer-friendly.
We’ve been on the market for 7 years, continuously growing and refining our product.
Our focus is on earning customer trust, which means constantly improving our delivery processes and rolling out new features. At the same time, we navigate the complex legal landscape of the cannabis industry, ensuring our platform remains compliant and future-proof.
Our total team size is over 200 people:
The development team is distributed globally and organized into cross-functional product teams. These teams typically consist of 8–12 members, including front-end and back-end developers, QA specialists, and analysts.
Each team is led by a Team Lead and a Product Owner, ensuring effective collaboration and clear direction.
Meanwhile, our CEO, account managers, and customer success team are based in the USA, working closely with us to align product development with business and user needs.
We’re strengthening our product team and looking for a Product Owner to help shape and improve the eCommerce experience within Sweed’s B2B SaaS platform.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end product role where you’ll take ownership of features from discovery and requirements definition through development, launch, and iteration. You’ll work closely with engineering and stakeholders, turning business needs and customer problems into clear product solutions.
Our eCommerce direction focuses on customer-facing shopping experiences — from product discovery and browsing to storefront functionality, checkout, and the overall online shopping journey. The goal is to help retailers deliver a seamless shopping experience to their customers.
We’re looking for someone with a strong product mindset, solid business analysis skills, and a high level of ownership — someone who can break down complex problems, pay attention to important details, make well-reasoned product decisions, and drive features through the full development lifecycle.
Own eCommerce product features end-to-end — from discovery and understanding business needs through development, launch, and iteration.
Work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand their challenges, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for product improvements.
Translate business needs into clear, structured product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Analyze user journeys, business logic, dependencies, and edge cases to ensure solutions are well thought through before development.
Manage and continuously adapt the product roadmap, aligning priorities with business goals, customer needs, and changing requirements in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Manage and prioritize the product backlog, balancing customer needs, business value, technical constraints, and development capacity.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, QA, and other Product teams to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
Take ownership of feature delivery, proactively resolve blockers, clarify requirements, and keep stakeholders aligned through transparent communication.
Monitor product performance after launch, analyze customer feedback and relevant metrics, and identify opportunities for further improvements.
2+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a comparable hands-on product role.
Experience working with B2B SaaS or other complex technology products; eCommerce or retail experience is a strong plus.
A background in Business Analysis or Project Management is a strong plus, especially for candidates who have transitioned into Product Management.
Proven experience owning product features end-to-end — from discovery and requirements definition through development, launch, and iteration.
Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Ability to analyze user journeys, business processes, dependencies, and edge cases, with strong attention to detail.
Experience working closely with Engineering, Design, QA, and other stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
Strong analytical and structured thinking, with the ability to break down complex problems, analyze product metrics, evaluate trade-offs, and make data-driven product decisions.
Ability to prioritize features and improvements based on customer needs, business value, technical constraints, and available resources.
Proactive mindset, high ownership, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
English at B2+ level or higher for effective collaboration with international and US-based stakeholders.
Product thinking — You start with the problem, customer context, and expected outcome rather than immediately jumping to features.
Execution focus — You can define a direction and then work closely with the team to turn it into a real product.
Entrepreneurial mindset — You identify opportunities, propose solutions, and find a way forward without relying on a rigid process.
Structured thinking — You can organize incomplete and conflicting information, identify missing context, and explain your reasoning clearly.
Adaptability — You can adjust your approach when priorities, customer needs, or market conditions change.
Communication — You make progress, decisions, risks, and dependencies visible to the people around you.
Business judgment — You understand that a B2B product needs to balance long-term strategy with customer and commercial realities.
Accountability — You are comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for the result.
