Position Summary:
Swiftly is searching for a Senior Software Engineer with experience developing and extending backend services in Kotlin, ideally with exposure to Quarkus or similar frameworks such as Spring Boot or Micronaut, running on Azure. This role will work within a fully remote startup environment and focus on maintaining and adding new features to existing services, improving the customer experience, and contributing to the continued development of the Swiftly platform. The Senior Software Engineer will work on the backend services that power the Swiftly platform’s core loyalty features, including coupons, rebates, and user authentication. Day to day, this role will design and write code for new features, as well as build and maintain the existing services that handle the core logic and data, such as loyalty, rebates, coupons, identity, ads, ecommerce, and flyers. The role will work with Product Managers to determine requirements and UI developers to agree on API endpoints. It will also involve reviewing logs and debugging services to fix bugs.

This is a full-time contract role. We use Deel as the employer of record and contract. 

• Work on a team of developers that build services fundamental to the Swiftly platform
• Build and maintain services supporting loyalty features such as rebates, loyalty, coupons, flyers, ads, portal, identity, and search
• Develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin and Quarkus
• Take ownership of the domain from the ground up, from architectural decisions to coding to testing to operations
• Use IntelliJ and Gradle to build and manage project code as part of the team's development workflow with CI/CD using GitHub Workflows
• Collaborate closely with mobile, web, and SDK engineering teams through well-defined service interfaces
• Operate production services, including on-call and incident management
• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment
• Other related duties as assigned
