Accountant

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accountant is responsible for effectively managing the full cycle accounting process, preparing and analyzing reporting packages and completing reconciliations. 

• →Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts. Perform ongoing review investigation and correction to ensure consistency and accuracy 
• →Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital.  Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts.  Investigate and present solutions for any related discrepancies 
• →Monitor compliance with Sysco’s policies, procedures & accounting standards, e.g. SOX, FAMM, etc. 
• →Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports 
• →Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for internal, Corporate office and external reporting. 
• →Act as a subject matter expert for internal departments; provide accurate and timely information and support to the Manager, Financial Analysis and Reporting and Corporate Controller 
• →Collaborate with other members of the Finance Team to achieve overall operating objectives 
• →Conduct ad hoc projects as required 
• →Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met. 
• →Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor. 
• →Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present. 
• →Perform other duties as assigned. 

• Must have a minimum of 1-2 years in an accounting related role. 
• High School diploma required 
• Completion of Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related degree preferred. 
• CPA designation or currently working toward an accounting designation preferred. 
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; proficiency in AS400 system a plus 

Bachelor's degree in related discipline.

• Analyser les informations financières relatives aux actifs, passifs et capitaux. Effectuer les rapprochements bancaires, les rapprochements de bilan et des comptes intersociétés. Enquêter sur les écarts et proposer des solutions appropriées.
• Assurer le respect des politiques, procédures et normes comptables de Sysco (SOX, FAMM, etc.).
• Examiner, enquêter et corriger les erreurs et incohérences dans les écritures comptables, documents et rapports financiers.
• Préparer les rapports hebdomadaires et mensuels destinés aux parties prenantes internes, au siège social et aux organismes externes.
• Agir à titre d’expert-conseil pour les différents services internes; fournir un soutien et des renseignements exacts et en temps opportun au gestionnaire de l’analyse et des rapports financiers ainsi qu’au contrôleur corporatif.
• Collaborer avec les autres membres de l’équipe des finances afin d’atteindre les objectifs opérationnels globaux.
• Réaliser des projets spéciaux et des analyses ponctuelles, au besoin.
• Respecter la politique de sécurité alimentaire de Sysco ainsi que les procédures connexes afin d’assurer la qualité, la salubrité et la conformité des produits alimentaires.
• Travailler de manière sécuritaire avec un impact environnemental minimal et signaler immédiatement à son superviseur tout danger, incident ou déversement environnemental.
• Comprendre son rôle essentiel en matière de santé et de sécurité, tant pour lui-même que pour ses collègues, et signaler toute situation dangereuse.
• Effectuer toute autre tâche connexe assignée.

• Minimum de 1 à 2 ans d’expérience dans un rôle lié à la comptabilité.
• Diplôme d’études secondaires requis.
• Diplôme universitaire de premier cycle en administration des affaires, en finance ou dans un domaine connexe, un atout.
• Titre de CPA ou démarche active vers l’obtention d’un titre comptable, un atout.
• Connaissance intermédiaire de la suite Microsoft Office; expérience avec le système AS/400, un atout.

Baccalauréat dans une discipline connexe.

2 années d’expérience ou plus.
