Taager is the first B2B startup focused on social sellers- Merchants. We are democratizing the social e-commerce space by enabling budding as well as seasoned entrepreneurs to sell online with no required capital, inventory, or operational experience.  We have our Merchants covered from merchandising, warehousing, shipping, cash collection and customer service.

 

In 2019 we started as a team of 8 people, now we are over 350 employees across Egypt, KSA and the UAE.  We serve more than 34K social e-commerce sellers from incredibly diverse backgrounds – from students earning a part-time income to highly ambitious digital marketing experts looking to become solo entrepreneurs. The sellers on our platform benefit from access to 2,500+ highly marketable products. Our people are driven by our mission and motivated by our desire to deliver the most seamless customer experience to the sellers on our platform. With a continuous focus on quality and execution, we are changing the social e-commerce landscape in the MENA region!

About the Role

We are looking for a results-driven Merchant Growth Manager to lead a team responsible for growing and scaling Taager's merchant portfolio. The role is focused on driving GMV growth, increasing merchant retention, improving profitability, and maximizing merchant success across the platform.

The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen, leadership skills, and data-driven decision-making to develop merchants, identify growth opportunities, and deliver sustainable business results.

 

What you will do



Merchant Growth & Portfolio Management

  • Drive GMV growth, confirmed orders, delivered orders, and profitability across the assigned merchant portfolio.
  • Develop and execute growth plans for high-potential merchants.
  • Monitor merchant performance and identify opportunities for scaling, retention, and reactivation.
  • Ensure merchants maximize the value of Taager's products and services.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Managers and Merchant Growth Specialists.
  • Set clear performance targets and monitor team productivity.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development plans.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Merchant Retention & Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with key merchants and act as a trusted business advisor.
  • Reduce merchant churn through proactive engagement and problem-solving.
  • Manage escalations and ensure timely resolution of merchant issues.
  • Drive merchant satisfaction and long-term loyalty.

Acquisition, Activation & Expansion

  • Support the acquisition and activation of high-potential merchants.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and merchant expansion.
  • Partner with onboarding teams to ensure a seamless merchant experience.
  • Develop initiatives to reactivate dormant merchants and improve portfolio engagement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Operations, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Support teams.
  • Act as the Voice of the Merchant by sharing insights and recommendations to improve the merchant experience.
  • Collaborate on initiatives that improve conversion rates, fulfillment performance, and merchant profitability.

Data Analysis & Business Planning

  • Analyze merchant performance data and identify growth opportunities.
  • Track key business metrics and provide regular performance reports.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize team strategy and merchant growth initiatives.
  • Forecast portfolio performance and recommend actions to achieve targets.

What You Bring to the Role 



Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in Account Management, Business Development, Merchant Growth, Sales, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience managing teams.
  • Experience within e-commerce, marketplaces, social commerce, dropshipping, or digital businesses.
  • Proven track record of driving merchant growth and achieving commercial targets.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and BI tools.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

Preferred

  • Experience managing large merchant portfolios.
  • Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and social commerce ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of merchant lifecycle management and retention strategies.
