Lift Maintenance - Lift Mechanic I

SUMMARY This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and installation of lift components to ensure safe and reliable operation. The role includes performing daily, weekly, and annual inspections and tests, monitoring equipment performance, collecting oil samples, and maintaining gearboxes in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements. Duties also involve power tool operation, line work, sheave rebuilding, carrier and grip work, and making basic terminal adjustments. The position supports non-destructive testing (visual and magnetic particle) under the supervision of a Level II certified inspector while following all company safety policies.   EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE Working at Tamarack is an incredibly rewarding and magical experience. We celebrate and respect our diverse team members and guests.   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform their essential duties.  Applicants must be 18 years of age.   General knowledge: Proficient in all stand-by and evacuation motors and procedures Proficient in all applicable lift manufacture maintenance and operation requirements Able to communicate clearly with others using written, verbal and computer skills Able to read and understand mechanical and hydraulic schematics Proper use of cutting torch, plasma cutter, and welding procedures Competent in all applicable fixed grip maintenance, inspection, and repair procedures   Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; but not limited to:   Inspect, maintain, and install lift components Observing, monitoring, and adjust equipment correctly, following company policies and manufactures guidelines Obtain oil samples for analysis and monitor gearbox temperature and oil pressures Perform all lift daily, weekly, and annual inspections, tests, and maintenance procedures, per manufacture or governing bodies Power tool operation and maintenance Perform line work, sheave rebuilding/ replacement, basic terminal adjustments, and carrier/grip work Work with visual and magnetic particle NDT procedures under the supervision by a level 2 certified inspector   Safety knowledge:   Proper safety for high heat/ open flame handling and procedures Understanding ANSI B77 codes   Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects tools or controls. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 10-hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally lifting and pushing or pulling 100 lbs. or more, and frequently lifting, pushing or pulling, and carrying up to 50lbs.  Must be capable of frequent climbing movements, walking on uneven terrain, walking on snow and ice, skiing or snowboarding and operating a snowmobile.  Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, and crawl.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.   Working Conditions: Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. As well as indoors in the repair shop or lift stations. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places. They will be occasionally exposed to extreme hot/cold and wet conditions, noise, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electric shock. Employee will be required to work on uneven and limited footing locations. Working surfaces can be loose or slippery as well.   Hazardous Materials/Noise: Employee will often be in contact with hazardous substances. The noise level in the workplace is usually loud.   Equipment Used in Job: Snowmobile, ATV, side by side, trucks, all mechanical tools (hand and power) ropes and rigging, cutting tools: chop saw, plasma cutter, cutting torch   Required High School or better. Valid driver's license Prefer previous ski lift experience or equivalent.
