Community Life is TCB’s place-based model that provides stable housing as a platform for residents and neighborhoods to achieve success. TCB communities are places of innovation that address some of the most significant challenges facing low-income populations. We engage residents in creating programs and build strategic partnerships with local stakeholders to maintain stable housing and create pathways to opportunities in six key practice areas: youth development, education, workforce development, health, asset building, and community engagement.

The Community Builders is a partner of the Boston Tax Help Coalition (BTHC) and will operate an IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site during the 2027 tax filing season. BTHC supports community-based VITA sites with training, volunteer recruitment and certification support, tax preparation software, technical assistance, and IRS coordination.

The VITA Site Coordinator is responsible for leading day-to-day planning and operations of the tax site, supporting and supervising volunteers, maintaining compliance with IRS and organizational requirements, and helping ensure that eligible taxpayers receive accurate, timely, and high-quality free tax preparation services.
