Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight of routine and specialized IR procedures, supervising exams, assigning tasks, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and departmental standards
  • Serves as a clinical and operational resource, supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while optimizing daily workflow across interdisciplinary teams
  • Monitors inventory levels, coordinates with supply chain, and ensures equipment functionality while addressing malfunctions and reporting issues promptly
  • Performs IR procedures with technical proficiency, resolves workflow challenges, and shares best practices through staff education
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates department-specific orientation programs, tailoring learning plans and tracking progress to ensure clinical readiness
  • Develops and supports preceptor programs, assigns orientees, and provides coaching to enhance teaching effectiveness and staff engagement
  • Coordinates annual competency assessments and validation of high-risk skills, ensuring timely completion and regulatory compliance
  • Identifies performance gaps and delivers required monthly training, tracking attendance and evaluating effectiveness to drive improvement
  • Leads professional development initiatives using data-driven insights, interactive learning strategies, and ongoing staff feedback
  • Oversees student clinical experiences, ensuring structured orientation, guidance, and a positive learning environment
  • Participates in QA/QC processes, integrates regulatory standards into practice, and supports performance improvement initiatives
  • Provides administrative support including scheduling, onboarding support, interview participation, and communication of departmental updates

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Radiology program (Technical Diploma) required
  • BLS Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) required
  • Registered Radiography Technologist (ARRT) required
  • Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (Texas Medical Board) required
  • Minimum 6 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
  • Strong knowledge of IR procedures, anatomy, physiology, and imaging principles required
  • Experience with fluoroscopy, angiography, ultrasound, CT, and related IR technologies required
  • Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification (VI-ARRT) preferred
