We're partnering with a leading engineering and simulation technology organization seeking a Software Engineer I to join its growing development team in Tulsa. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career software engineer looking to work on sophisticated simulation and training systems while gaining hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a passion for software development, and a desire to contribute to mission-critical systems in a collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Collaborate with systems, software, and project engineers to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.
- →Participate in software requirements definition, decomposition, and design activities.
- →Analyze software and hardware interface requirements.
- →Develop, test, and maintain software applications for simulation and training systems.
- →Write software in C, C++, Fortran, and other programming languages as required.
- →Work in Linux-based development environments.
- →Perform software integration, implementation, verification, and acceptance testing.
- →Troubleshoot software issues and identify effective solutions.
- →Support installation, acceptance testing, and deployment of systems at customer locations.
- →Work closely with software, hardware, manufacturing, and program management teams throughout project execution.
- →Prepare technical documentation, specifications, reports, source code, and test procedures.
- →Assist in identifying and mitigating technical risks throughout project development.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience or academic exposure to software design, development, debugging, and testing.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and software development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with C/C++ development.
- Exposure to Python, C#, Fortran, Ada, or other programming languages.
- Experience using Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with source control systems such as Git or Subversion.
- Understanding of networking concepts and system integration.
- Internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience involving simulation, modeling, or engineering software development.
- Experience with software development environments and tools.
- Approximately 25% travel.
- Travel throughout the United States with occasional international travel.
- Opportunities to support customer installations, acceptance testing, and training activities.
- Travel may range from several days to multiple weeks and may occasionally include weekends.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport may be required.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
