At Pepco, we’re growing fast and building our Tech Hub in Porto to support our business across Europe.

We are looking for an IT Data Project Manager to join the team. In this role, you will  work as part of the business facing team for the IT function and be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of technology related projects through every stage of the Delivery Lifecycle to agreed time, quality, and cost parameters. The Project Manager is the main link between the projects key business stakeholders, IT and 3rd parties and leads IT project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Takes responsibility for defining, confirming, and controlling scope for all assigned IT initiatives, ensuring this is clearly and consistently communicated to all stakeholders throughout.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders that can be leveraged during the delivery of IT initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring project delivery by follows the Pepco IT Delivery Framework, and that this framework is clear and understood by all stakeholders.
  • Leads, motivates and is a role model for the project team to achieve the desired business outcomes and benefits.
  • Facilitates a continuous improvement mindset within the project teams, ensuring efficiency is built into delivery of projects and programmes.
  • Proactively manages projects on a day-to-day basis with focus on risks, issues, resource contention, scope, and timescales to ensure that IT are always actively communicating challenges to stakeholders in these areas.
  • Creates, maintains, and executes detailed, task orientated project plans covering all stages of the Delivery Lifecycle as appropriate, from shaping, discovery, development, testing, implementation and support.
  • Organises and runs all required project meetings in line with the Pepco IT Delivery Framework as required, including but not limited to project kick off meetings, daily stand ups, weekly project reviews and monthly steering group meetings.
  • Communicates critical project information as necessary in line with the Pepco IT Delivery Framework, including but not limited to project highlight reports, project steering group reports and budget reports.
  • Engages with and manages senior stakeholders from board level down on project progress, challenges and required support.
  • Manages new and existing third-party suppliers working with Pepco on the delivery of IT projects, ensuring that they have clear, scope, deliverables, and timescales, and that their chosen method of delivery is aligned to the project and the Pepco IT Delivery Framework.
  • Contributes to the evolution of the Pepco IT PMO function, sharing ideas, improving processes, and educating colleagues from across the organisation.
  • Master degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Prince2 Foundation, APMG, Agile Delivery methodologies or similar industry recognized project management,  methodologies
  • Knowledgeable in end-to-end Retail functions such as Supply Chain, Finance, Retail & Digital.
  • Knowledge of Project Management best practice tools and techniques.
  • Experience of delivering small, medium, and large technology led projects encompassing software, hardware, data and infrastructure in Retail organizations or similar in terms of size, scale and culture, including retailers with an international presence, for minimum of 10 Years in Project Management or similar roles.
  • Experience of working in fast paced, unstructured and ambiguous environments.
  • Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders from different business functions
  • Experience on risk management and stakeholder engagement (business and IT)
  • Experience leading data engineering, analytics and AI/ML initiatives
  • Experience of working on every stage of the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience of supporting the production of business/ benefits cases in support of IT initiatives
  • Experience of producing project artefacts to support project delivery including but not limited to Project Initiation Documents, RAID logs, Project Plans, Service Transition Documents, Project Closure Documents, Managing Budgets and Resource Plans.
  • Experience of leading cross functional project teams to deliver technology led solutions.
  • Experience of working with, managing, and leading third parties to deliver technology led solutions.
  • Experience of managing stakeholders in challenging and demanding environments from c-suite to shop floor
  • Reliable decision maker, with the ability to make informed decisions based upon analysis, experience, and judgement.
  • A self-starter, with the ability to quickly understand the complexities of technology against the business need and able to offer a range of solutions using time, quality, and cost constraints.
  • Excellent situational awareness and effective stakeholder management.
  • Ability to think in broad terms and at a detailed level about what is required to tackle issues, mitigate risks, and deliver projects.
  • Resilient and focused personality, with the ability to overcome people, process, and technology related challenges across the software development lifecycle.
  • Evidence of taking ownership, thinking proactively, and providing leadership to project teams, stakeholders and third parties.
  • Solid understanding of industry standard project management and delivery methods, approaches and frameworks.
  • Comfortable working in unstructured, ambiguous environments.
  • Well-developed inter-personal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Fluent English.
