Role Profile The Structural Engineer (Telecom Masts) is responsible for the structural analysis, design, verification, and supervision of telecommunication towers and mast foundations across Ghana. The role ensures that all telecom structures are safe, stable, cost-effective, and compliant with Ghanaian regulations, international standards, and telecom operator requirements. Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership Perform structural analysis and design of telecom masts and towers (lattice towers, monopoles, guyed masts). Design foundations for telecom towers considering Ghanaian soil conditions and wind loads. Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and technical reports for approval. Ensure compliance with Ghana Building Code, local authority requirements, and telecom industry standards. Review and approve shop drawings and fabrication details. Supervise tower erection, foundation works, and structural installations on site. Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks during construction. Assess existing telecom towers for upgrades, strengthening, or co-location. Provide technical support during audits, upgrades, and maintenance works. Coordinate with civil, electrical, RF engineers, contractors, and telecom operators. Ensure all work comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards Communicate project progress, challenges and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, regulatory bodies and local authorities Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation including progress reports on sites and other inventory Update documentation to reflect approved changes on the Towerco data base ensuring that the database is accurate at all times. Evaluate, document and manage change requests, ensuring alignment with all stakeholders Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the impact of changes and obtain necessary approvals Verify that tower installations meet safety protocols and environmental guidelines. Qualification & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (Structural option). Professional registration with GhIE or eligibility for registration is an advantage. Minimum of 3–8 years’ experience in structural design and supervision (telecom towers preferred). Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structures. Experience with telecom mast/tower standards (TIA, Eurocodes, or equivalent). Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ASM Towers, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD). Understanding of wind loading, soil-structure interaction, and foundation design. Ability to work on remote sites across Ghana. Strong technical reporting and documentation skills.
