Clinical Adjunct Instructor-Practical Nursing

The Clinical Adjunct Instructor–Practical Nursing is responsible for providing clinical instruction and supervision to Practical Nursing students during Mental Health/Psychiatric clinical rotations. Responsibilities include evaluating student performance, maintaining required records and documentation, collaborating with program faculty, and supporting the delivery and success of the Practical Nursing program. This part-time position is scheduled for two 11-hour clinical days per week, typically Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed to meet program requirements.

• →Provide clinical instruction and supervision to Practical Nursing students during Mental Health/Psychiatric clinical rotations in accordance with program and clinical agency requirements.
• →Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback to promote student success and clinical competency.
• →Maintain accurate student records, evaluations, attendance, and required clinical documentation.
• →Collaborate with the Practical Nursing Coordinator and course faculty to ensure consistency between classroom instruction and clinical learning experiences.
• →Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and clinical agency personnel.
• →Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive learning environment for traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
• →Participate in departmental meetings and other instructional activities as requested.
• →Maintain compliance with college, Tennessee Board of Nursing, and clinical agency policies and procedures.
• →Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee.
• Minimum of three (3) years of recent full-time clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years, including at least one (1) year of Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing experience.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, planning, oral, and written communication skills.
• Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience preferred.
