Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time position of Instructional Support & Facilities Technician. This position will support all programs as needed and will assist with campus maintenance, facilities operations, and grounds upkeep when assigned. Faculty support may be needed in any of the program areas at any location offered by the institution.

Job Duties

· Serve as instructor in any TCAT Crump program as assigned.

· Provide individualized classroom and laboratory instruction following established curriculum, lesson plans, and safety procedures.

· Administer assessments to evaluate student progress. Maintain student academic records and submit reports related to the program (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, etc.).

· Conduct and/or attend meetings, day and/or evening with educational institutions, business and industry to develop working relationships with employers and program advisory committees.

· Attend workshops and/or other training programs to remain current.

· Motivation, conduct, safety, discipline, and appearance of student during the time he/she is in the classroom are also duties of the instructor.

· Assist instructors in developing and planning a complete progressive course of study, syllabi, lesson plans, assignment and instructional aids.

· Support instructors in maintaining instructional materials, equipment, and labs.

· Assist with campus maintenance, repair, and improvement projects, grounds maintenance and campus operations.

· Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Certificate, diploma, technical training, or equivalent experience in a skilled trade, vocational, maintenance, industrial or related field.

· Three (3) years recent employment experience in technical, industrial, maintenance, facilities, or related field.

· Knowledge in the following areas: electrical theory, preventative maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, machining, welding, automotive, HVAC, and construction.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

· Ability to effectively work with students, faculty, staff, and the public.

· Evidence of good character, mature attitude, professionalism, and dependability.

· Working knowledge of MS Office and computer basics.

· Ability to work daytime and evening hours at any location as scheduled.

· Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel as required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Use of computer

 

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

· Normal standing, sitting, and walking

· Lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs

· Operate standard electrical equipment and tools, stand and climb ladders

· Operate a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.

· Must have the physical capability of meeting the demands of campus maintenance / grounds and electrical work as well as managing students.

 

SALARY:

 Range $46,828 - $60,876.

Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
