Machine Sorter

• →Comply with all safety procedures at all times while performing job duties using Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

• →Must be able to operate automated sortation equipment effectively and safely.

• →Inspect pallets at a rate that meets company and safety standards safely and securely.

• →Machine Sorter manually guides 70 lbs. pallets from an automated indexer onto a conveyor system. Visually inspects pallets and determines level of repair needed.

• →Ensure that proper inspection and separation of pallets are met, while achieving company expectations.

• →Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

• →Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to follow inspecting process.

• Must be able to work at a steady, fast pace.

• Basic Math Skills required

• Must be able to lift and move 70-80 pounds repetitively

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day).

• Able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.

• Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

The work environment consists of occasional extreme temperature shifts ranging from very cold to very hot. Exposure to dust and loud noise (hearing protection is provided). Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving forklifts. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
