JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Commissioner Domestic Taxes; the purpose of this role is to provide strategic direction for the Taxpayer Transactions function by aligning its activities with Organisational objectives and priorities and develop long-term plans and strategies for transitioning manual tax functions to automated processes. This roles also exists to oversee the day-to-day operations of manual tax or back-office functions by ensuring efficiency and accuracy in processing taxpayer transactions while implementing quality control measures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure all taxpayer transactions are accurately processed, recorded, and documented to maintain data integrity and compliance. Identify opportunities to streamline transaction processes and improve efficiency, reducing processing times and resource utilization. Oversee compliance with tax regulations, policies, and procedures in all taxpayer transactions to mitigate risks and maintain legal adherence. Lead the integration of automation technologies to enhance transactional processes, optimizing accuracy, speed, and resource allocation. Monitor and enhance customer satisfaction by improving the quality and accessibility of taxpayer services and resolving issues promptly. Implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with taxpayer transactions, safeguarding Organisational interests. Optimize resource allocation to ensure adequate staffing, infrastructure, and technology to support efficient taxpayer transactions. Establish performance metrics and monitoring mechanisms to track transactional performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement. Provide training and development opportunities to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in executing taxpayer transactions effectively. Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with Organisational goals to guide the direction and priorities of the Taxpayers Transactions department. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE A Master’s Degree in either Business Administration, Taxation, Accounting, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPA) will be an added advantage. At least 10 years relevant work experience in tax administration or related field, with a minimum of 5 years in a management capacity, with a focus on manual tax or back-office functions.
