Our Client is a real estate developer creating AI-native, agentic homes and workplaces, with an intelligent agent that learns its occupants and adapts the environment toward wellness and longevity. Their approach is built around the idea that a smart home should know you, care for you and make you healthier over time, not just act as a remote control on an app.
Our Client runs a lab and experience centre where products are tested with real residents and office users, and has a pipeline of thousands of units to deploy into. Our Client is a fast-moving, founder-led organisation, with a mandate to set a new design standard for the industry.
Responsibilities
~2 min read1. Product Leadership & Roadmap
- →Own the product strategy and roadmap across the client’s three product lines: the agentic intelligence layer, the PWA / super app, and the hardware & IoT experience.
- →Lead and grow the product owners, giving each a clear mandate, outcomes and accountability for delivering a complete, working product with their engineering counterparts.
- →Turn the CAIO’s vision into prioritised, sequenced roadmaps that balance residential first (the current priority), commercial workplaces, and later hospitality.
- →Define success metrics and run the product cadence (discovery, PRDs, sprint reviews, launch readiness) together with the Technical Program Manager.
2. The Super App & Customer Journey
- →Own the end-to-end journey in the PWA, evolving it into the super app for agentic living:
- →Pre-sales: an AI-guided digital brochure, delivered through brokers, that helps buyers choose an apartment and its customisations.
- →Onboarding: the resident “interviews” their home agent, building their profile, preferences and household setup (with privacy between family members).
- →Handover: construction updates, fit-out choices and move-in readiness.
- →Living: daily control and wellness insights, plus communicating with the home from anywhere.
- →Design for multiple modalities (chat, voice, a 3D/avatar agent and touch) while keeping the experience simple for people who don’t want to “talk to AI”.
3. UX, Interaction & Design Systems
- →Build and own the design system across app, web, wall switches, smart mirrors, tablets and in-space displays.
- →Define the interaction language for ambient, mostly invisible automation: how the space shows what it is doing, what it detected, and how the occupant can override it.
- →Champion research and usability testing with real residents and office users in the lab and Experience Centre.
- →Set and protect a world-class quality bar for micro-interactions, motion and polish.
4. Creative Direction & Brand Expression
- →Lead the creative and graphics team: visual design, motion graphics, product storyboards and sales/marketing assets.
- →Partner with Marketing and the brand agency so that the brand direction (bold and colourful, “Nike meets Apple”, glassmorphism and neumorphism, biophilic cues) shows up consistently in the product.
- →Produce product vision videos and prototypes that make an invisible, passive experience visible and compelling to investors, buyers and partners.
5. Wellness, Data & Trust
- →Translate biometric and wellness data (from wearables such as Whoop, Oura and Ultrahuman, and from in-space sensing) into insights and nudges people actually act on, without being creepy.
- →Make privacy and consent a first-class part of the experience, working with the Head of Technology on privacy-by-design.
Requirements
~1 min read- Product Leadership: Product strategy, roadmapping, OKRs, managing product owners/managers, outcome-based prioritisation
- UX & Interaction: Multi-platform UX (mobile, web/PWA, embedded displays), conversational and voice UX, prototyping, user research
- Visual & Creative: Design systems, typography, motion design, brand-to-product translation; strong portfolio required
- AI Product Literacy: Understanding of LLMs and agents, and how to design trustworthy, explainable AI experiences
- Tooling: Figma (expert), prototyping tools (ProtoPie, Framer or similar), After Effects/motion tooling, analytics platforms
- Collaboration: Proven partnership with engineering leadership; experience working with external agencies
- Leadership: Built and led combined product + design teams of 10+; hiring and mentoring across seniority levels
- Hardware-Adjacent Products: Experience designing products that extend beyond the screen into smart home, IoT, wearables, automotive or connected devices.
- Health/Wellness Tech: Product or design leadership at a health-tech or wearables company (e.g. Whoop, Oura, Ultrahuman, Eight Sleep) is a strong plus.
- Consumer Super Apps: Experience at companies known for design excellence and complex consumer journeys (e.g. Apple, Uber, Careem, Noon, Swiggy, Revolut).
- Zero-to-One Experience: You have built a product and a team from scratch, not just optimised an existing one.
- Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: You will push back on a bad idea, including the CEO’s, and change your mind when the evidence says so.
Most real-estate “smart homes” are a remote control on an app. Our client is building something different: homes and workplaces that know you, care for you and make you healthier over time. You will define the face, voice and feel of that intelligence, from the first time a buyer meets the client’s agent on a broker’s tablet to the moment a resident’s bathroom mirror suggests a better night’s sleep. You will have the mandate, the team and the executive support to set a new design standard for the industry.
- Portfolio Is Everything: Please include case studies that show product thinking and craft, ideally including motion and multi-device work.
- Think Beyond the Screen: Come ready to discuss how you would design an experience where the best interaction is often no interaction at all.
- Bring a Point of View: Tell us one thing you would change about how today’s smart home apps work, and how you would do it better.
