Objective

The Security Officer of the Resort will be responsible to a safe and secure environment on the Nautilus Maldives for all guests and team members which include:

  1. Securing the Grounds from inside and outside threats
  2. Being trained in First Aid, Lifeguard and Fire Fighting
  3. Patrolling the Island ensuring any threat is dealt with immediately

The Security Officer is a member of the Nautilus Team and will ensure that the above-mentioned areas of responsibilities are well maintain and strictly manage as per the resorts SOP and other operational guidelines or policies. He will follow the Nautilus service standards, service sequence, standard operational procedures, policies and most of all reflect the values of the Nautilus. In his areas of responsibilities, he ensures a safe and secure environment for all guests and employees of the resort. He will control expenses, protect the asset of the owner and focus on the highest levels of customer satisfaction. He further sustains a welcoming environment and support colleagues to create 'Private Moments' for our guests.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

    • Undertakes reasonable requests made by guests, management, and colleagues in a timely manner.
    • Meets arriving and departing seaplanes or boats, verifies reasons for arrival, and provides escorts as needed.
    • Escorts new Team members as directed by Human Resources.
    • Remains available to support the security team and assist other departments, including Human Resources, when required
    • Demonstrates a high degree of service standards and serves as a role model to junior team members and colleagues.
    • Acts as a hands-on team player, driving processes, guiding colleagues, and assisting them in achieving departmental goals.
    • Connects professionally with all employees to foster a sense of belonging within The Nautilus family.
    • Creates a professional, comfortable, and happy working environment where every colleague can succeed.
    • Shows equal respect for all colleagues regardless of religion, race, nationality, status, position, or family background.
    • Champions The Nautilus culture by embodying its values in all actions, procedures, and gestures.
    • Actively participates in departmental briefings, meetings, and training sessions.
    • Showcases company values in training sessions and actively welcomes opportunities to develop self and others.
    • Maintains a professional appearance by fully complying with grooming and hygiene regulations.
    • Conducts regular security patrols across the hotel and island, maintaining a written security log.
    • Locks designated resort areas as instructed by the Security Manager.
    • Responds immediately to emergency situations and inspects potential hazards, such as fire risks.
    • Understands all Fire-Life-Safety procedures and regularly reviews emergency guidelines.
    • Promotes safety procedures, maintains a safe work environment, and keeps in good physical health.
    • Monitors departing team members and Boat crews to ensure proper authorization to leave the island.
    • Inspects departing items to ensure no unauthorized resort property leaves the island.
    • Supervised the loading and unloading of supply and Garbage carrier boats to secure goods and prevent unauthorized property removal.
    • Protects resort assets by taking care of facilities, equipment, and decorative items.
    • Monitors department cost factors and suggests practical cost-saving concepts that do not impact guest experience.
    • Takes personal ownership of guest complaints until fully resolved and recovered.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Office Space:

  • Back office

Technological Support (Computer, Landline Phone Connection etc.):

  • As of when it is necessary and needed to perform specified project/ task.

General:

  • Subject to the fact that he/she may from time to time be expected to work outside normal hours in order to meet reporting deadlines and take full responsibility of the department thereby extending his/her support whenever needed.

Specific financial measures of performance:

  • To be agreed at each appraisal

Specific non-financial measures of performance:

  • To be agreed on recruitment and at each appraisal.

General measures of performance:

  • As a member of the department, he/she is required to set the highest standards of performance both within his department and as an example for others outside his department.

Frequency of appraisal:

  • Performance to be appraised annually or as per policy of the company

Appraiser:

  • To be appraised by the immediate superior.
