As the Director, Market Access - Americas for DP World Americas RO, you will define the Regional Market Access Strategy and capability priorities. Will be instrumental in growing our existing offering within an end-to-end supply chain. This role will be responsible for the leadership, strategic alignment, business development and commercial coordination within the DP World portfolio in the ARO. The role will directly contribute towards the Regional revenue and appropriate financial targets. The role links and provides client solutions leveraging the DP World Capabilities in the region.
- Formulate the Market Access ARO strategy aligned to DP World Group and the respective Pillar strategies and KPI’s priorities
- Set strategic direction for the ARO Market Access capability, and cascade strategic priorities into the Region
- Demonstrate the ability to translate the ARO strategy into tangible vertical and country business plans
- Establish and align the required Market Access ARO structures, standards and capabilities to ensure that it supports and enables the Capability’s objectives and strategy, and drives a high performing team
- Develop, implement, and take accountability for Market Access ARO strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth, and that positively influence the DP World revenue, operating profit and return on invested capital
- Establish global relationships and agreements with principals that create value for both the principal and the end user of the product
- Lead key customer relationships and serve as the expert for Market Access solutions in the region. Identify and understand the opportunities, challenges and potential partner priorities to establish mutually beneficial partnerships/commercial relationships
- Identify key acquisitions to meet Market Access targets, and lead the acquisition and integration efforts in collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Pro-actively work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Market Access ARO market/service positioning is clear and defined to maximize growth opportunities
- Support and implement mid-term business development plans including budget and P&L responsibility for Market Access ARO
- Expand and grow the ARO Market Access capability to new categories and verticals , in accordance with ARO Regional and DP World Global priorities and strategies. Enhance and expand Market Access solutions, including channel development and expansion, route-to-market development, building existing product categories and industry expansion including imports , in-country and export solutions
- Ensure that Market Access operations (including value-added services), and commercial aspects are coordinated and executed in way that ensures optimal customer service
- Proactively identify and manage business uncertainties and opportunities, and implement action plans to mitigate supply chain risks
- Drive decision making process through integrated business planning with regional and global stakeholders and senior leaders (Commercial, Finance, etc.) in order to maximize service to customers and meet DP World objectives
- Building effective relationships and facilitate collaboration across the DP World group of companies to drive projects to completion and improve processes
- Lead key customer relationships to ensure the delivery of the growth strategy over a 3 to 5 year period
- Continuously evaluate industry, market and technology trends to assess the potential impact on operational and business opportunities. Make recommendations and drive key projects to leverage opportunities
- Formulate Market Access budget to ensure that the strategic deliverables are adequately budgeted for
- Ensure effective fiscal management in compliance with Company standards
- Lead, define and ensure compliance with budgeted revenue and operating income goals
- Analyze monthly financial performance indicators and trends, make necessary adjustments to ensure profitability, and submit required reports timeously
- Lead the DP World HR agenda, including the effective management of workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition, talent management, and employee relations in line with Group policies and procedures
- Drive the development of a healthy, high performance culture across the Market Access ARO capability, in alignment with DP World cultural objectives.
- Ensure, and assume ultimate accountability for the implementation of continuous improvement, health, safety and sustainability best practices for the Market Access capability
- Interpret and ensure compliance to regulatory requirements across all operating entities
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Relevant post-graduate degree
- 10+ years’ experience in the supply chain and distribution industry, including experience managing supply chain activities
- 8+ years’ in a similar or senior executive role for a global multinational
- Experience in the consumer, healthcare and durables industry will be advantageous
Salary Range: $180,000 - $193,000 base
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
