Health & Safety Specialist

DP World, the fast-growing transportation and logistics leader that currently manages more than 10% of world trade, is seeking a well-organized professional to join its Greenfield Contract Logistics site in Ostrava, Czech Republic, as Health and Safety Specialist. 

• Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements. Provides technical safety and health support and information to all employees
• Administer mandatory safety training and ensure all newly hired employees, agency employees, contractors, visitors and transferred employees receive proper training.
• Perform monthly safety inspections and maintenance of corresponding logs.
• Ensure employees operate in a safe, orderly, and clean environment. Involved in the development of work procedures and makes health and safety recommendations accordingly.
• Recommends process and product safety features that will reduce employees’ exposure to work hazards.
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance. This will include property in and around the facility.
• Review plans and specifications for development of new machinery, equipment or processes to determine whether all safety requirements have been met. 

• Higher education with a focus on occupational health and safety, fire safety and the environment 
• Knowledge of current legislation in the field of health and safety / environmental protection
• Experience in managing documentation and ISO standards 
• Excellent communication skills with a strong  command in English language (B1) and Czech
