Security Manager Eastern Europe (Operational and Technical Security)

DP World, the fast-growing transportation and logistics leader that currently manages more than 10% of world trade is seeking a senior Security Manager (Operational and Technical Security) to play a pivotal role in strengthening the protection of our people, assets, operations, and customers across the Eastern Europe Cluster.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Technical architecture leadership for the design, integration, and governance of advanced security systems across the Eastern Cluster and wider European operations.
- →Security solution development covering access control, CCTV/VMS, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, biometrics, radar, and command-and-control platforms.
- →Standards and specifications management to ensure consistency, scalability, interoperability, and compliance across all security designs and deployments.
- →Technical review and solution assurance for schematics, layouts, integration drawings, proof-of-concept trials, and vendor submissions.
- →Project lifecycle ownership for security integration and installation initiatives, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, handover, and closure.
- →Budget, schedule, and resource management to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of project objectives.
- →Risk, change, and quality oversight across security projects to safeguard delivery standards and operational readiness.
- →Cross-functional coordination with security, IT, engineering, construction, procurement, vendors, and contractors to enable seamless execution.
- →Operational security leadership across the Eastern Cluster, including incident management, escalation, and continuous improvement of controls.
- →Compliance and audit oversight against standards such as TAPA, ISPS, TISAX, AEO, ISO 28000, and related customer or regulatory requirements.
- →Security system governance through the maintenance of site databases, lifecycle reviews, maintenance contracts, and performance audits.
- →Investigation support and intelligence analysis for incidents such as theft, fraud, damage, or other significant security events.
- →Vendor and stakeholder management to ensure effective performance, service quality, and alignment with contractual and security expectations.
- →Training and competence development for regional teams to strengthen capability in security technology and operational practices.
- →Risk assessment and due diligence for new projects, operational sites, acquisitions, and third-party engagements.
- →Procurement partnership to support tendering, technical evaluation, contract negotiations, and value-engineered purchasing decisions.
- →Financial control and reporting for purchase orders, invoices, and project budgets, including initiatives above £1.5M in value.
- →Regulatory and compliance collaboration with IT and Cybersecurity teams to ensure physical and logical security controls remain aligned.
- →External relationship management with customers, public authorities, and other key stakeholders to support intelligence sharing and operational resilience.
- →Guard force and service provider oversight including scope development, tender support, performance analysis, and accountability for security delivery.
- Professional qualifications in Security, Risk Management, Engineering, IT, or a related field; professional certifications in security and information security are highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications such as TAPA FSR/TSR, AEO, TISAX, ISO 27001, ISO 28000, ISO Information Security Officer, and/or air freight security adviser credentials are considered a strong advantage. Expert knowledge of these standards and of customer-specific requirements across sectors such as technology, automotive, and chemicals are a must.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering technical security solutions in a comparable role within a large multinational organization, logistics operator, systems integrator, or security contractor.
- Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in security systems, intervention, intrusion detection, risk mitigation, and threat defence.
- Advanced knowledge of security technologies, including CCTV, radar, intruder detection systems, access control, biometrics, and AI-enabled solutions.
Technical expertise in VMS and control platforms, including Genetec, Milestone, and similar leading systems.
- Thorough familiarity with compliance and certification processes, including UAT, external verification, and audit readiness.
- Strong understanding of information security principles and legal compliance requirements, including GDPR and the use of technology in public and private domains.
- Strong project management capability, including delivery across the full lifecycle from bid/project/launch into BAU operations.
- Strong technical knowledge of IT networks, protocols, server hardware, and operating systems.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and OJEU-related requirements.
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing; fluency in any other European language is considered an advantage.
- Excellent change management discipline, with the ability to manage formal requests, tracking, verification, and control of change.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead teams or subordinate staff effectively.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively to security incidents with a flexible, calm, and solution-focused approach.
- Capability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across multicultural teams.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to manage vendors and contractors to SLA and compliance standards.
- Willingness to travel extensively, approximately 50% of the time.
