Team Lead Pricing & Procurement | Ocean Freight (m/w/d)

As Team Leader Pricing & Procurement Ocean Freight Germany, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating Ocean Freight Pricing and Procurement activities across Germany. Acting as the key country focal point for carrier management, procurement, pricing, and tender execution, you will ensure the availability of competitive and reliable Ocean Freight and intermodal solutions (FCL and LCL) that support business growth and customer satisfaction.

Working closely with Sales, Operations, Regional Procurement, and other DP World business units, you will drive procurement excellence, strengthen supplier relationships, and ensure alignment with regional and global procurement strategies. This role combines leadership, commercial acumen, and market expertise to optimize costs, improve service performance, and support the continued growth of DP World's Ocean Freight business in Germany.

Procurement Management

• Serve as the primary procurement contact within the country, ensuring alignment with regional procurement strategies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners to secure competitive end-to-end procurement solutions.
• Ensure effective local carrier management, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, allocation management and issue resolution. 
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations and sales teams and world with other DP World entities such as Inland Terminals, Road Freight etc. (working actively on E2E vision), to optimize procurement strategies that meet country-specific business needs.
• Provide guidance on rate structures, carrier selection, and capacity-related challenges to ensure cost-effective and reliable logistics operations.
• Monitor local market conditions, trends, and regulations to provide insights and recommendations for procurement decisions.

Pricing Management

• Lead tendering processes, ensuring compliance with corporate procurement policies and market dynamics.
• Support the Sales Organization within the Country and provide relevant buying rates on the best options along with selling-suggestions for main leg as well as pre-& on-carriages.
• Manage the Rate-requests of the DP World Overseas-Network (FCL and LCL) as well as of our Agent-Network to increase the ratio of non-controlled business and help our Network to grow
• Implement a “follow-up”-Process and install KPI’s to measure success rate 

Procurement Strategy

• Implement and execute procurement strategies tailored to the country’s logistics and transportation landscape.
• Ensure procurement planning aligned with corporate and regional supply chain objectives.
• Maintain and enforce procurement policies that support business goals and enhance supplier performance within the country.
• Act in line with the Regional Procurement Strategies & Carrier-Portfolio 

General

• Foster a high-performing procurement culture within the country, ensuring adherence to global procurement policies and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement operations, leveraging market insights, technology, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with all local regulatory requirements and company procurement guidelines.

• →Extensive experience in Ocean Freight procurement, carrier management, pricing, and tender management, with a strong understanding of the German logistics market.
• →Proven ability to negotiate competitive agreements, manage supplier relationships, and lead procurement initiatives in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
• →Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial skills, with the ability to translate market intelligence into effective procurement and pricing strategies.
• →Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across local, regional, and global teams.
• →Fluent in German and English, with a willingness to travel as required and a strong commitment to compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
