Payroll Specialist - Allegan Area

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Allegan that are seeking skilled Payroll Specialists. • →Process multi-state payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
• →Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• →Reconcile payroll data and maintain accurate payroll records.
• →Administer timekeeping systems and resolve discrepancies.
• →Prepare and submit payroll reports for internal and external audits.
• →Process new hires, terminations, and changes to employee data.
• →Manage deductions for benefits, garnishments, and other withholdings.

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience processing payroll for a medium to large employee base, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and HRIS systems.
• Strong understanding of federal and state payroll regulations, including tax laws and wage and hour requirements.
• Experience with timekeeping systems and their integration with payroll.

• Experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) for payroll processing.
• Certification in payroll (e.g., FPC, CPP).
• Familiarity with union contracts and their impact on payroll calculations.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) for data analysis and reporting.
