Payroll Specialist - Fremont Area

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Fremont that are seeking skilled Payroll Specialists. • →Process multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• →Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• →Reconcile payroll data and general ledger accounts.
• →Administer timekeeping system and resolve employee timecard issues.
• →Calculate and process special payments, such as bonuses and severance.
• →Prepare and submit accurate payroll tax filings and year-end reports.

• 3-5 years of experience processing multi-state payroll for 500+ employees, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paycom) and timekeeping systems.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations, particularly for manufacturing and shift work.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliation for payroll accounts and month-end close processes.
• Ability to interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements or complex internal pay rules.

• Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
• Familiarity with union contracts and their impact on payroll
• Advanced Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables
