Shipping & Receiving Lead - Houghton Area

We collaborate with manufacturing firms in the Houghton area that seek skilled Shipping & Receiving Leads. • →Open the shipping area and review the day's outbound orders and inbound deliveries.
• →Assign work to shipping and receiving staff and confirm coverage for each shift.
• →Check incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders and note shortages or damage.
• →Prepare outbound shipments with correct labels, paperwork, and loading plans.
• →Load and unload trucks and verify counts with drivers before signing off.
• →Enter receipts, shipments, and inventory adjustments in the warehouse system.
• →Resolve shipment errors, carrier delays, and inventory discrepancies with purchasing and production.
• →Train new team members on loading, paperwork, and safety procedures.

• Ability to read packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders accurately.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience on a small team.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years in shipping, receiving, or warehouse work in a manufacturing setting.
• Forklift certification and experience operating a forklift safely.
• Experience with shipping software and inventory systems.

• OSHA forklift trainer certification.
• Experience with international shipping documents and customs paperwork.
• Knowledge of lean or 5S practices in a warehouse.
• CDL or experience moving trailers in a yard.
• Familiarity with barcode scanning and RF equipment.
