Staff Accountant - Portage Area

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Portage that are seeking skilled Staff Accountants. • →Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and various balance sheet accounts.
• →Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
• →Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including accruals and reconciliations.
• →Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, as needed.
• →Analyze manufacturing costs and variances, providing insights to management.
• →Prepare various financial reports and schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• →Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.
• →Participate in inventory counts and reconcile inventory balances.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role, preferably within manufacturing
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting principles

• Experience with an ERP system like SAP or Oracle
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
• CMA or CPA certification in progress
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
