Tool and Die Maker - Delta Township Area

• →Designs and builds dies, tools, and fixtures.
• →Operates a variety of machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.
• →Interprets blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• →Performs precision measuring using instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• →Troubleshoots and repairs existing tooling and dies to maintain production.
• →Collaborates with engineers and production staff to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.
• →Selects appropriate materials and heat treatments for tools and dies based on application.
• →Conducts preventative maintenance on tools and machinery.

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program in Tool and Die Making or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in the setup, operation, and maintenance of manual and CNC machining equipment
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schews, and engineering specifications
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties
• Experience with precision measurement tools and quality control procedures
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling and die issues independently

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam)
• Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machinery (e.g., mills, lathes, EDM)
• Certification in a specialized tooling area (e.g., progressive dies, injection molds, jig & fixture design)
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in tool design and inspection
• Experience with advanced measurement tools and techniques (e.g., CMM, laser scanning)
