Tool and Die Maker - Otsego Area

• →Design and build new dies, tools, and fixtures.
• →Repair and maintain existing production tooling.
• →Perform precision machining operations using lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
• →Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• →Troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues to optimize manufacturing processes.
• →Conduct in-process and final inspections of tools and dies to ensure quality and accuracy.
• →Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tool design and performance.

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship in Tool and Die Making or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in the setup, operation, and maintenance of manual and CNC machine tools
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges
• Experience with CAD/CAM software for design and programming (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam)
