Tool Maker - Grandville Area

We are partnering with organizations in Grandville that are seeking Tool Makers. • →Fabricate, alter, and repair a variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• →Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM.
• →Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• →Perform precision measurements using a wide range of inspection tools to ensure part conformity.
• →Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling performance and production.
• →Select appropriate raw materials and heat treatment processes for tool manufacturing.
• →Collaborate with engineers and production personnel on design improvements and new tool development.

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or 5+ years of relevant experience
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles
• Expertise in operating manual and CNC machinery (mills, lathes, grinders)
• Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring instruments

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design.
• Certification in a specialized machining skill (e.g., EDM, CNC programming).
• Ability to read and interpret complex GD&T on blueprints.
• Experience with precision measurement tools beyond basic calipers/micrometers (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
