Tool Maker - Mattawan Area

• →Fabricate, alter, and repair a variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• →Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine specifications and dimensions.
• →Set up and operate a wide range of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
• →Perform precision measurements using specialized instruments to ensure conformity to tight tolerances.
• →Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tool performance, wear, and breakage.
• →Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• →Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.

• Proven ability to interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated expertise in operating a variety of precision machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs).
• Proficient in the use of various measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMMs).
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties relevant to tool manufacturing.
• Ability to design, build, and repair jigs, fixtures, gauges, and production tooling.
• Solid comprehension of GD&T principles and application.

• Experience with CNC programming (G-code).
• Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., machining, tool and die making).
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Ability to mentor junior tool makers or apprentices.
• Experience with precision measurement tools beyond basic calipers and micrometers (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
