We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically skilled Bookkeeper to join the pre-opening team at The Bristol Bol. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budget planning, monitoring costs, and ensuring timely and precise financial reporting during both the pre-opening and operational phases.

The ideal candidate will contribute to sound financial decision-making and assist management in achieving strong financial performance. Experience in luxury hospitality and hotel pre-opening environments is a significant advantage.

This is a permanent position.

Responsibilities

  • Independently performs accounting and bookkeeping tasks in accordance with applicable accounting standards, laws, and regulations
  • Independently organizes and manages the accounts payable function, in line with legal requirements and Company policies
  • Posts monthly cost accruals and provisions
  • Maintains records of fixed assets and small inventory items
  • Reconciles inventory accounting with financial accounting
  • Prepares and submits statutory reports and tax filings to relevant authorities (VAT, VAT-S, ZP, PPO, PP-MI-PO, etc.), as well as to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (CBS) and the Croatian National Bank (CNB)
  • Reviews and reconciles the general ledger with subsidiary ledgers
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with accounting and financial legislation and regulations
  • Cooperates with tax authorities and financial institutions
  • Performs other administrative and financial tasks as required
  • Carries out duties and tasks in accordance with the organizational structure and established deadlines

Requirements

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the same or similar positions
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proactive and independent approach to task execution
  • Strong prioritization skills with a clear focus on achieving objectives
