Bartender
The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is in search of Seasonal Bartenders for Blue Gene’s Pub’s 2026 Summer Season. This position works directly with the Bar Manager and the Operations Manager to ensure the Pub’s success.
This is a part-time hourly position with a schedule that includes weekdays and weekends. This position is paid $11.00 an hour, plus tips.
Bartenders will work in a fast paced and high volume bar, serving drinks and cocktails at the O’Neill’s on campus pub, at campus receptions, special events, and Cabaret performances.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing a welcoming and hospitable presence to all guests, and ensuring that they receive efficient and professional service at all times.
- Ensuring that all guests abide by all applicable laws, regulations, and age limits concerning alcohol consumption in Connecticut.
- Handling a high volume of cash, credit, and debit card transactions through a POS system, ensuring accurate transactions and a balanced cash drawer.
- Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses and equipment.
- Assist Bar Manager in maintaining accurate inventory and restocking as needed.
Qualified candidates will have at least 1-year of professional bartending. They will also be comfortable handling cash, experience working with a POS system, stand for long periods of time, and be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Bartenders must be TIPS certified in the state of CT - if they are not, training will be provided. Must have the ability to work independently.
