The National Medal of the Arts and Two-Time Tony Award Winning Eugene O’Neill Theater Center is the country’s preeminent organization dedicated to the development of new works and new voices for the stage.
From its 11-acre campus in Waterford, Connecticut, the O’Neill has been home to more than 1,000 new works for the stage and thousands more emerging artists. O’Neill programs include the National Playwrights Conference, National Music Theater Conference, National Critics Institute, National Puppetry Conference, Cabaret & Performance Conference, The Young Playwrights Festival, and the National Theater Institute, which offers six credit-earning undergraduate training programs.

Housekeeper
Reports to: Head of Housekeeping
Department: Operations
Compensation: $18.00/hour
Dates: Full and Part time, Early May- Mid August
The Housekeeping Staff is an integral part of the O’Neill’s overall campus operations. We seek several team-oriented individuals to help maintain the presentation of our campus, and aid in creating a clean and welcoming environment for staff, students, and artists throughout the summer season.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing daily inventory of rooms, arrivals, and departures to ensure timely and efficient resetting of various living quarters on campus
- Performing a variety of tasks on a daily basis, including but not limited to laundering linens, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, changing bed linens, restocking supplies
- Monitoring inventory of supplies needed for daily tasks, alerting Head of Housekeeping when reorders are necessary
- Assisting the facilities crew in maintaining the cleanliness of the overall campus environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- On-the-job training, no experience required.
- Basic internet and computer skills preferred.
- Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet for extended periods of time, and capable of lifting up to 45 lbs.
- A valid U.S. driver’s license is required.
