MISSION

The mission of The PATH School is to provide a purpose-driven, culturally responsive learning environment that challenges scholars academically while supporting their social and emotional growth in order to develop conscientious citizens who transform their communities. 

VISION FOR POSITION

The Classroom Interventionist is a scholar-centered educator who works in partnership with licensed classroom teachers to support academic achievement for all scholars. This role focuses on providing targeted, data-driven interventions, particularly for scholars with special education needs and multilingual/English language needs. The Classroom Interventionist delivers small-group (sometimes whole group) instruction, monitors scholar progress, and supports the implementation of individualized and tiered interventions to ensure all scholars meet grade-level expectations.

Essential Functions 

  • Collaborate with Classroom Teachers
    • Work alongside licensed teachers in general education classrooms to support daily instruction and ensure access to grade-level content.
    • Partner with teachers, specialists, and support staff to plan and implement targeted interventions aligned to scholar needs.
    • Participate in data meetings, professional learning communities (PLCs), and problem-solving teams to support instructional decision-making.
  • Provide Targeted Instruction & Interventions
    • Deliver small-group and one-on-one instruction to scholars requiring additional academic support.
    • Implement research-based intervention strategies to address gaps in literacy, math, language acquisition, and/or behavior.
    • Support scholars with IEPs, 504 Plans, and ILPs by reinforcing accommodations and modifications during instruction.
  • Monitor and Track scholar Data
    • Collect, track, and analyze scholar performance data during lessons and intervention blocks.
    • Use progress monitoring tools and assessment data to inform instructional adjustments and intervention planning.
    • Maintain accurate records of scholar progress, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Support Differentiated Instruction
    • Assist in adapting materials and scaffolding instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
    • Help ensure that all scholars can access rigorous, grade-level content through strategic support.
    • Reinforce teacher-led instruction through guided practice and real-time feedback.
  • Implement Intervention Plans
    • Support the development and execution of individualized intervention plans based on scholar data and identified needs.
    • Adjust interventions as needed based on ongoing progress monitoring and feedback.
  • Promote a Positive Learning Environment
    • Build strong relationships with scholars to foster engagement, confidence, and academic growth.
    • Support classroom management systems and contribute to a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communication & Collaboration
    • Communicate regularly with teachers and staff regarding scholar progress and instructional needs.
    • Collaborate with special education staff, ML coordinators, and families as appropriate to ensure aligned supports.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Education or related field (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain licensure (preferred)
  • Experience working with diverse learners, including scholars with disabilities and English Learners
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, RTI/MTSS frameworks, and data-driven instruction
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction to meet student needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for ⅔ of the work day
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work in an environment with an above average level of noise
  • Some nights and weekends, as required
