Depending on the unit, RNs may care for: Cardiac and cardiothoracic patients Post-surgical patients Telemetry and progressive-care patients Patients requiring higher-acuity monitoring Patients receiving IV drips and other advanced therapies Patients with chest tubes and central lines Complex admissions, discharges and transfers What You'll Do Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to high-acuity patients Care for patients with drips, chest tubes, central lines and other specialized interventions Continuously assess patients and recognize changes in clinical condition Manage patients requiring advanced monitoring and therapies Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team Coordinate admissions, discharges and patient transfers Educate patients and families throughout the care process Maintain accurate clinical documentation Promote patient safety and evidence-based nursing practice What We're Looking For ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program Current RN license in Wisconsin or eligibility through a compact license, Completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) 3+ years practicing as an RN in a comparative setting for experienced nurses ICU, critical care, step-down, progressive care, telemetry or other high-acuity nursing experience Certification in specialty preferred BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire ACLS, PALS or NRP preferred based on primary department Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply. Experienced nurses transitioning from Med-Surg, Telemetry, Step-Down, Progressive Care or other acute-care settings are also encouraged to apply.
