Typical Responsibilities:
- Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems.
- Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems, and review system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
- Create user information solutions and develop, implement, and maintain application components and interfaces.
- Define objectives by analyzing user requirements and envisioning system features and functionality.
- Design and develop user interfaces for internet/intranet applications, determining design methodologies and tool sets and conducting tests.
- Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development versus commercially available software.
- Integrate applications by designing database architecture and server scripting and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
- Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms, and support users through documentation and assistance tools.
Typical Physical Activity: Desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion.
Typical Pay Range: The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $115,000 – $132,000. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.
Existing TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing active TS/SCI security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- BS degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of six (6) years experience analyzing data processing problems and user requirements to implement and improve computer systems; application software development and sustainment experience, including full development life cycle, user interface design, database integration, and multi-environment troubleshooting.
- Experience recommending commercially available software solutions and improving existing systems.
- Skilled in Java, Java Applets, web programming, web user interface design, software requirements, software development process, Object-Oriented Design (OOD), multimedia content development, and software debugging; proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office suite, and SharePoint
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Relevant software development, Java, or cloud certifications preferred
