Exodus Family Ministries is seeking a Resource Center Assistant to join our close-knit, supportive team serving individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship in the Louisville community.
This is a meaningful, hands-on role where no two days look the same. You’ll be on the front lines of a busy Resource Center—helping guests with immediate needs, supporting daily operations, and contributing to a safe, respectful, and well-run environment. About the Role
~1 min readAs a Resource Center Associate, you will work directly with guests, many of whom are navigating crisis situations. You’ll help ensure the center runs smoothly and safely while providing consistent, compassionate support to those we serve.
This role is active, fast-paced, and highly people-focused. It combines client support, facility operations, and teamwork in a ministry environment centered on dignity, structure, and care.
Responsibilities
~1 min readGreet guests with warmth, respect, and consistency
Support use of showers and laundry services in a structured and fair way
Help maintain a calm, safe environment for guests and volunteers
Use training and good judgment to help de-escalate situations when needed
Keep shared spaces clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the day
Wash, sort, and distribute clothing and linens
Restock supplies and maintain sanitary conditions across the center
Assist with deliveries, donations, and pantry organization
Help with setup and cleanup for distribution days and special events
Assist with guest sign-in and basic data entry
Support volunteers during shifts
Communicate closely with team members to coordinate daily operations
Full-time: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
We’re looking for someone who is:
Requirements

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm in high-need or crisis environments
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and reaching
Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs
Ability to navigate stairs and uneven surfaces
Active, hands-on work throughout the day
Nice to Have
~1 min read1–2 years of experience in nonprofit, ministry, social services, or administrative roles
Experience working with vulnerable or unhoused populations
This role requires alignment with the Christian mission and values of Exodus Family Ministries, including:
Personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Agreement with the authority of the Bible
Alignment with the organization’s Statement of Faith
Active participation in a local evangelical church
Commitment to Christian character, service, and conduct
