A Brief Overview
The Interventional Radiology Technologist reports to the Inpatient Imaging Manager. Under limited supervision, the IR Technologist competently performs specialized technical duties utilizing advanced digital fluoroscopy and angiography equipment to image vascular structures and facilitate therapeutic interventions for diagnosis or treatment. The role provides high-level patient care, monitors patient hemodynamic conditions essential for successful procedure completion, and directly assists and scrubs with the Interventional Radiologist during invasive and minimally invasive micro-procedures.
What you will do

- Specialized Procedures: Assist with a wide array of IR interventions, including but not limited to: angiography, angioplasty, stenting, embolization, thrombolysis, dialysis access interventions, biopsies, drains, and central venous access (ports/PICC lines).
- Documentation & Safety: Obtain and document accurate patient medical histories, pre-procedure "Time Outs," and post-procedure metrics. Ensure exam completion and archiving within the Hospital Information System (HIS), RIS, and PACS.
- Radiation Safety: Demonstrate strict adherence to ALARA guidelines, ensuring proper lead shielding, dosimetry badge compliance, and collimation are utilized for patients and lab staff.
