Titan is a leading national electrical contractor with locations in Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Titan maintains a strong reputation as a leading high-quality, customer-centric service provider which has resulted in strong financial growth since its inception in 2006. As a result, the company has become a trusted partner to its customers and suppliers and has established a proven track record of year-over-year growth. The company has significant opportunities to further penetrate its existing markets and expand into other geographies and service lines.

They need someone who can see around corners.

Someone who can build strategy before the job hits the field.

Someone who can identify risk before it becomes a change order.

Someone who can win work, build teams, mentor estimators, influence operations, and help drive profitable growth.

That's this role.

We're looking for a Director of Preconstruction to lead our estimating and preconstruction efforts across commercial, industrial, mission-critical, healthcare, manufacturing, and large-scale electrical projects.

This is not a "head-down estimator" position.

This is a seat at the leadership table.

You'll help determine what work we pursue, how we pursue it, and how we position ourselves to win.

  • Build, mentor, and develop estimators and preconstruction professionals
  • Establish estimating standards, processes, and best practices
  • Review major bids before submission
  • Create consistency across all regional estimating efforts
  • Help grow the next generation of preconstruction leaders
  • Evaluate opportunities and determine pursuit strategy
  • Develop winning approaches for negotiated, design-assist, design-build, and hard-bid projects
  • Identify project risks, gaps, and value-engineering opportunities
  • Partner with operations to ensure estimates align with real-world execution
  • Support business development efforts with key clients and partners
  • Participate in contractor, owner, architect, and engineer meetings
  • Strengthen relationships with general contractors and strategic customers
  • Help position the company for long-term growth in target markets
  • Oversee budgeting, conceptual estimating, GMP development, and final bid submissions
  • Validate labor assumptions, productivity factors, material pricing, and subcontractor scopes
  • Ensure estimates are complete, defensible, and profitable
  • Review market conditions and cost trends affecting project outcomes
  • Lead turnover meetings with project teams
  • Ensure smooth transitions from preconstruction to execution
  • Capture lessons learned from completed projects
  • Continuously improve estimating accuracy

After your first year:

  • The estimating team is stronger than when you arrived.
  • Win rates have improved.
  • Margins are healthier.
  • Project turnover is smoother.
  • Operations trusts the numbers.
  • Clients trust your expertise.
  • Leadership looks to you for strategic direction.

Most importantly, the company is winning the right work—not just more work.

  • 10+ years in electrical construction estimating, preconstruction, or project management
  • Proven experience leading large commercial electrical bids
  • Experience managing estimating or preconstruction teams
  • Deep knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and project delivery models
  • Strong understanding of labor productivity, budgets, schedules, and risk analysis
  • Ability to lead high-level client conversations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • You prefer working independently without collaboration
  • You don't enjoy mentoring others
  • You avoid customer interaction
