As a Fire Sprinkler Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of buildings and facilities by inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire protection systems. This position requires a strong understanding of fire codes, standards, and regulations, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • →Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems.
    • →Sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge)
    • →Fire pumps and controllers
    • →Standpipe systems
    • →Emergency lighting systems
    • →Portable fire extinguishers
    • →Kitchen suppression systems (where applicable)
    • →Special Hazards systems (where applicable)
  • →Identify deficiencies and non-compliance issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • →Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, test results, and recommendations.
  • →Interpret and apply relevant fire codes and standards, such as NFPA, IFC, and local regulations.
  • →Communicate effectively with building owners, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding fire safety requirements and inspection results.
  • →Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • →Stay up to date on the latest fire protection technologies, codes, and regulations.
  • →Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in fire protection system installation or inspection, testing, and maintenance.
  • Possess relevant State and/or National certifications, where applicable.
  • Strong knowledge of fire codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IFC, IBC).
  • Familiarity with various fire protection systems and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work on a ladder.
