About the Role

~1 min read

Turning Point Global Solutions (TurningPoint) is seeking a relationship-driven Account Manager to deepen and grow our standing with key federal government clients, including the Department of State (DoS), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Defense Health Agency (DHA), and other federal civilian and defense agencies.

The core of this role is client intimacy — building trusted, durable relationships with agency stakeholders and becoming a go-to resource within each account — with pipeline development and new opportunity pursuit as a supporting, secondary responsibility. Prior, hands-on experience supporting one or more of these specific agencies is required; candidates must be able to speak credibly to agency missions, stakeholders, and ways of working from firsthand experience. TurningPoint currently has ongoing active contracts/projects with the above-mentioned agencies.

The ideal candidate has direct experience navigating federal procurement, understands agency mission priorities, and is comfortable managing long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, and compliance-heavy environments.

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Department: Sales / Account Management
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Clearance: Active Secret clearance required; higher clearance levels (Top Secret/TS-SCI) are a plus.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
•    Serve as the primary, trusted point of contact for assigned federal accounts (DoS, DHS, DHA, and others), cultivating deep, ongoing relationships with program managers, contracting officers, and end users.
•    Work with the TurningPoint BD team to fine-tune our message and solutions to meet customers' mission and program goals, driving our revenue and growth.
•    Maintain a consistent cadence of client touchpoints to stay closely attuned to agency priorities, pain points, and satisfaction — ensuring the client always feels known and well-supported.
•    Act as the client's internal advocate, coordinating with delivery/program teams to ensure agency expectations are understood and met.
•    Identify expansion opportunities that emerge naturally from strong account relationships, and support (as a secondary priority) broader pipeline development and capture efforts across target agencies.
•    Monitor task orders, contract vehicles (e.g., GSA Schedule, GWACs, IDIQs), and upcoming re-competes relevant to assigned accounts.
•    Support proposal and capture teams as needed with client insight, relationship access, and past performance context.
•    Provide regular account health updates and relationship status reports to leadership.

Requirements

~1 min read
•    10+ years of account management or client relationship experience supporting federal government clients.
•    Required: prior, direct experience personally supporting the Department of State, DHS, DHA, or a closely related agency (not solely at the company/contract level — candidate must have firsthand exposure to the agency's mission, stakeholders, and working environment).
•    Excellent relationship-building, communication, and client-management skills, with the ability to build lasting trust with senior government stakeholders.
•    Active Secret security clearance required at time of application; must be able to maintain clearance eligibility.
•    Ability to work on-site/hybrid within the Washington, DC metro area.

•    Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
•    Existing, active network of federal contacts within DoS, DHS, DHA, or adjacent agencies (e.g., CBP, ICE, TSA, USCIS, Defense Health Agency components).
•    Background in client/account management (rather than pure hunting or capture) within health IT, cybersecurity, professional services, or a relevant vertical serving these agencies.
•    Federal telecom management experience preferred, though not required.
•    Systems integration experience is a plus.
•    Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Federal Contracts Manager, Shipley capture/proposal training, PMP).

We understand that our team members are our greatest asset. That’s why we offer:

•    Competitive salary with annual performance bonuses and annual merit increases.
•    Comprehensive health benefits fully funded by the company for employees.
•    401(k) retirement plan with company match.
•    Paid time off plus holidays.
•    Professional development opportunities.
•    A collaborative and inclusive work culture.
