Treaty Oak features an experienced management team with a track record of developing and commercializing 10 GW+ of utility-scale power projects and a collective 100+ years’ experience across critical competencies, including power markets, offtake structuring, design, engineering and real estate, with such expertise being put towards our 15+ GW portfolio of utility scale renewable energy projects across the U.S., including 485 MW of in-construction and operational projects.

Treaty Oak is a wholly-owned portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management (Macquarie), one of the world’s largest infrastructure managers with $600 billion under management, pairing Treaty Oak’s renewables development expertise with Macquarie’s capital backing and global leadership in advancing the energy transition.

The Role

Treaty Oak is seeking a Senior Manager, Environmental and Permitting, focused on supporting Treaty Oak’s environmental review and permitting efforts for projects across the United States. You will work closely with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure that our projects meet all environmental and permitting requirements. The position will report to the Director of Environmental and Permitting.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee environmental review of solar, storage, and wind projects, including wetlands and waterways, protected species, cultural resources, etc.

· Obtain any necessary environmental permits prior to and during construction.

· Manage consultant relationships across companies and regions.

· Work in close coordination with other teams, including development, construction, and operations, to support overall project timelines and needs.

· Manage budgets and schedules across projects and tasks.

· Regularly communicate and synchronize with internal stakeholders to minimize project risk.

· Engage with and manage relationships with local, state and federal regulatory authorities for each Project.

· Support transitions to construction and to operations to ensure a smooth handoff and compliance with issued permits and conditions of approval.

· Advise on permitting risks, cost, and schedule for potential new sites, both greenfield and M&A.

· Monitor and participate in trade groups and other industry opportunities for engagement and education, and provide internal advice on industry updates.

Education and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/studies, land use planning, geography, political science, or other relevant field; master’s degree preferred.

· A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience managing environmental review and permitting, ideally with a renewable energy developer.

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.

· Ability to manage a large workload, often providing support to processes managed by colleagues, while prioritizing tasks and effectively juggling competing deadlines.

· Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and field questions from internal team members on environmental and other topics pertaining to discretionary approvals.

· Work is primarily performed in an office environment with periodic travel to sites and frequent travel to support permitting and local affairs. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 20 pounds.
